ENGINEERING APPRENTICESHIPS
Foundations of Australia’s economy, engineering and manufacturing careers are suited to individuals who enjoy designing, manufacturing, installing and repairing products. Emerging new technologies are changing the game, as fusion welding, robotics, 3D printing, and automation opens up all sorts of exciting doors for a career in an industry with enormous long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical

    This apprenticeship trains you for fabricating, assembling, maintaining and repairing precision instruments and equipment/machines. Apprentices also undertake general application of a lathe, mill and drilling machine and a range of welding equipment.

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication

    In this role as a Boilermaker (Welder) apprentice, candidates produce metal fabricated products such as structures, frames, plate assemblies and pipe-work, and using tools, welding and thermal cutting equipment and fabrication techniques. Boilermakers use a wide range of hand tools and power tools and workshop machines such as drills, grinders, clamps, benders and lifting equipment.

  • Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration

    This qualification includes exposure to repairing, installing, servicing, and understanding components to maintain refrigeration systems and equipment in buildings. Understanding gases and circuits are also part of this course. The focus can be on domestic or industrial systems and includes completing a capstone assessment to be qualified.
