As an Employer Partner, your role is vital in upholding access and equity principles in the workplace. This page outlines your responsibilities, expectations, and the support available to ensure a fair, inclusive, and supportive apprenticeship and traineeship experience.
What is Access and Equity?
Access and equity means ensuring that all apprentices and trainees:
✔ Have equal opportunity to participate in apprenticeships and traineeships, regardless of race, language, culture, religion, gender, age, ability, or socioeconomic background.
✔ Are treated fairly and without discrimination in recruitment, training, and day-to-day workplace experiences.
✔ Receive reasonable adjustments, if needed, to support equal participation.
✔ Have access to support services that help remove barriers to success.
Your Responsibilities as an Employer Partner
As an Employer Partner of WPC Group, you are expected to:
Ensure fair and inclusive recruitment and employment practices.
Promote diversity and maintain a respectful, supportive workplace environment.
Adhere to anti-discrimination laws and WPC Group’s Access and Equity Policy.
Communicate clear expectations to supervisors and team members.
Report any access or equity concerns to WPC Group.
Support apprentices/trainees in accessing grievance and appeals processes when required.
How WPC Group Supports You and Your Apprentices
We work in partnership with you to uphold access and equity principles across all placements. Our support includes:
✔ Clear orientation materials outlining employer responsibilities.
✔ Regular mentor visits to check in with apprentices and discuss workplace inclusion.
✔ A support team dedicated to helping apprentices overcome personal or systemic barriers.
✔ A confidential process for lodging and resolving complaints and grievances.

Acknowledgment and Compliance
All Employer Partners must acknowledge and comply with WPC Group’s Access and Equity Policy.
You’ll be asked to sign the Employer Partner Orientation Checklist, confirming your understanding of our access and equity expectations.
Our mentors will reinforce these principles throughout regular visits and check-ins.
Failure to meet these obligations may result in corrective action or a review of your partnership status.
