WPC Group offers a range of scholarships to support the development of young people as they build their careers.
Evan Philips Rotary Club of Footscray Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Footscray and the Philip’s family, the Evan Philips Scholarship has been developed to provide assistance to young disadvantaged Australians by giving them ‘a hand up, not a hand out’, and helping them reach their full potential.
Scholarship value: $2500.00
The $2,500.00 Scholarship can contribute to the following:
Improving study set-up at home for those trainee and apprentices who have to work from home or are required to study online
New laptop, printer, desk, internet set-up etc
Tool Vouchers for apprentices
Clothing for trainees who need new work clothes
Travel costs – this can be used for fuel or if taking Public Transport contribute towards Myki fees
Additional training linked to career development (example, leadership coaching sessions, public speaking development
School fees if facing financial hardship
The Evan Philips Scholarship is open to apprentices and trainees who reside in Maribyrnong, Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Wyndham, and Melton Councils.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Evan Philip Scholarship, apprentices and trainees need to have been employed for a period of six months, be up to date with studies, have excellent attendance along with meeting at least one of the below selection criteria:
• Financial hardship
• A disability as defined in Equal Opportunity Act
• Indigenous/Torres Strait Islander
• From a non-English speaking background
