WPC Group have enthusiastic job ready candidates available now.

WPC Group, in partnership with Melbourne Water, are now offering 10 outstanding career opportunities for environmentally focused individuals to commence a full-time traineeship in Waterways, Conservation and Land Management. Melbourne Water supply high-quality water, healthy waterways, integrated drainage and flood management services and natural community spaces that help make Melbourne one of the world’s most liveable cities.

As part of the Waterways and Land Delivery Team, successful trainee crew members will gain hands-on experience and have ample opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge. Trainees will gain skills in delivering a range of activities including weed management, plant identification, revegetation, brushcutting and debris removal. These activities will ensure overall natural resources management and protection of Melbourne’s waterways and land.

Industry experience is not essential – applicants just need to be passionate about the environment, thrive working outdoors and have the desire to build a career that positively impacts Melbourne’s environment, liveability and community wellbeing.

Throughout the 18-month traineeship, trainee crew members will study a nationally recognised qualification in Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management through Holmesglen Institute of TAFE.

In addition, trainees will have additional support from an experienced WPC Group Mentor, opportunities for further internal training through Melbourne Water, access to a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and will receive all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform the role.

With the aim to be as diverse and vibrant as the community they serve, Melbourne Water is committed to building a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace culture. Applications are therefore encouraged from a range of people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people who identify as having a disability, mature age and young job seekers, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Melbourne Water are investing in their future workforce needs and intend to offer fulltime career progression opportunities post successful completion of the traineeship program.
