What does WPC Group stand for?
WPC Group simply represents Work Place Connect. Officially relaunched on 14 August 2007, the companies name was changed to WPC Group.
During the past 30 years, WPC Group evolved from Work Place Connect, which was formally know as Western Region Group Training.
WPC Group History
WPC Group was first established in 1982 by the Western Region Commission.
The Commission was formed in 1974 with membership comprising of the nine member councils in Melbourne’s West.
The Company was formed to address a broad range of local issues. From a regional perspective, youth unemployment and skills training was soon recognized as a major issue.
When established in 1982, it was the first community Group Training Organisation in Victoria under the heading of Western Region Group Apprenticeship Scheme (GAS).
