Group training is an employment and training arrangement where a GTO (WPC Group Ltd) employs apprentices and trainees, and then places them with 'host employers'. WPC Group is responsible for the quality and continuity of the apprentices’ and trainees’ employment and training and also provides additional support to the host employer.
Group training has been a feature of Australia’s apprenticeship and traineeship system for over 20 years. Its support for private and public sector organisations, promotion of training in traditional trades and, employment of young apprentices and trainees, have made group training highly valued.
